Ladybugs and Flowers - AFO braces are on!
Oct 17 Livie got her custom AFO's put on. They have ladybugs and flowers on them so they are quite cute :D Mom actually put on a ladybug onsie, completely accidental!, so she matched. Haha.
We have to check them at least once a day to be sure they are fitting well and not rubbing/ blistering anywhere but other than that they are pretty easy. They are so tiny and adorable. And Livie loves that she has more movement! We still are not sure how much of her hamstring she will be able to use but we know her quads are strong so she is kicking like crazy since the casts were removed. She does give a slightly confused look when her feet no longer make a loud noise when she hits the wall though...... :P
One super fun part of AFO's vs. casts?! WE CAN FINALLY GIVE HER A BATH!!!! We did not give her one on the 17th but did the following day and had an absolute blast.
Here are some pics of Livie in her AFO's. She is quite content - like everything else she has done. Oh! She actually GIGGLED when the cast saw turned on to remove her last casts! Who does that?! Haha.
BE HAPPY. LAUGH. ENJOY CHAOS.

my mom kept my first AFOs.. I am pretty sure she still has them somewhere, its so fun to see how tiny they were! Also I used to laugh hysterically every time I got casts removed! The saw they use to cut the cast vibrates at a very high frequency and tickles A LOT! anyways - I was browsing through some of your posts so thought I would comment on this one since I can relate! =)
